ok so at the time i was really into this app that lets you screen record these like really beautiful videos with like padding and gradients and borders (+ high border radii) and then i thought a lot about video editing bc my flow was screen studio video -> imovie + music -> post on twitter but i was like wait all this editing stuff should just be possible with AI and so i got hella excited and in a day i built this scruffy website that used some replicate api to take an image and edit it using natural language, i think i used an llm to take your natural lang prompt and extrapolate it into some much more complex prompt and then this what i passed to the replicate api.
i “launched” it same day and it did pretty well on twitter
over time though - like most of my projects during this period - eda changed a LOTT and by the end it didn’t even edit images and didn’t even use ai it was a video editor for product demos, basically a video editor for people like me that wanted to build in public and maybe even had a small team they wanted to run the videos by before posting, etc.
it was really fun but ultimately i pigeoneholed myself into an idea i wasn’t too excited about and i moved on!
